i've build a photoshop-action (window > actions) to make the holgalook:

start the recording with a click on the play-button:
then:
01. cut the image to an quadrat (canvas size)
02. make a layer-copy (command + J [mac] or strg + J [windows])
03. make a corner selection with the quick mask mode (key Q) and the radial gradient tool
04. change back to standard-view (key Q)
05. make a smooth selection-border with the new function (ps cs3) refinde edges
06. make an new layer
07. fill the selectin in the new layer with black color (paint bucket tool)
08. delete the selection (command + D [mac] or strg + D [windows])
09. change to the layer-copy whick you made in step 2 (you can open the layer-palette with the key F7)
10. add noise with a small size. us the gaussian (filter > noise > add noise)
11. reduce the image size at 70% (shortcut: command + alt + c [mac] or strg + alt + c [winodws])
12. use the filter blur, but only a little bit
13. use the filter noise one more times
14. scale the image size at 130%
15. use the blur-filter again.
16. use the blending mode soft light with a fill of 70%
17. reduce the layer to the background with command + E [Mac] or strg + E [windows]
18. change to the layer with the dark corners and adjust a opacity of 90%.
18. merge the layer down with layer > flattern image
19. open the adjustment-layer black&white. then merge the adjustment-layer down with flattern image.
20. incrase the contrast with the curves. the ajustment-layer would best suit our purpose...

stop the record with the stop-button. now you can use the action with every open image.

sorry for my bad englisch... :(
